Supplier Verification

How to Verify a Wholesale Supplier in Saudi Arabia

By Editorial Team8 min read

A practical checklist for confirming that a wholesale supplier is a real, registered business before you send money.

Ask for the commercial registration

A legitimate Saudi business has a commercial registration (CR). Ask for the CR number and check that the business name and activity match what the supplier told you, using the official Ministry of Commerce services.

Check the VAT number on invoices

VAT-registered businesses must show their VAT number on tax invoices. A supplier who refuses to issue a proper invoice is a warning sign.

Red flags to watch for

Be careful if a supplier:

  • Asks for full payment to a personal account
  • Offers prices far below every other seller
  • Will not let you inspect stock or see photos of the actual lot
  • Pressures you to decide immediately

Pay safely

For a first order, start small, pay to a company bank account in the business's name, and keep the written quotation, purchase order and invoice together.
